We showed up without a reservation and they kindly fitted us in. The food was simple and a little limited on choices but everything we got was great. We tried everything on the menu and each thing was great in its own way. All the seafood was fantastic. It was very nice with the love music outside. Would definitely come back.

Came home again to R.I. last week. Ordered and waited outside on picnic tables. Picked up sandwich, back to table, opened it to find wrong sandwich. "You got what you ordered", the be-atch told me. Ah, not really, I don't eat roast beef and I ordered Turkey. Sandwiches are good, but don't blame the error on the customer. Most of us are alert, oriented and sick of the Be-atch sisters. Attitude has NOT changed since my visit last year.

Consistently delicious. I recommend the meatloaf sandwich and the McSister. Please know what you want before you go inside through the front door to order! It's a tiny tiny place.

We stopped in on our bikes after riding by the previous day. Sooo glad we decided to give it a try - the sandwiches were unbelievably tasty! We had the roast beef and tuna subs. Both were great but the roast beef was absolutely melt in your mouth good. And the warm cookie was the ultimate finish. The Three Sisters setup is perfect for BI: park your bikes, order inside, go find a table in the shade out back, and wait for your name to be called. Then soak up the sun and the fabulous flavors of this great lunch spot!! So simple and easy yet a great way to have an island lunch. We will be back next time we're on the island.

This little joint has a fun vibe and great food. We stopped in to grab lunch on our way back from town to the beach. They are cooking in a tiny little hut but have the plan well mapped out. You walk up to the front and look at the menu before going inside to order. You then order your sandwich or salad (grab one...or two homemade chocolate chip cookies) and then go out the back door to wait for your food at picnic tables and grab condiments and utensils. The back has tables and umbrellas set up to chow down there or you can opt for takeout (which we did) and head to the beach. My sister and I enjoyed our sandwiches thoroughly and liked that the options were healthy with fresh ingredients.

Great & very informal spot that reminded me of Berkeley, CA. Excellent mix of sandwich and salad options, with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies to power our bike tour of the island. Add to that mix super friendly service that welcomes a great mix of kids & adults. Outdoor seating only in a delightfully funky and shaded yard.

So good! A smaller version of Something Natural on Nantucket minus the crowds. These women work their butts off producing high quality fresh sandwiches. Of the five we tried, definitely recommend the meatball sub. Also, don't skip the chocolate chip cookies - a definite way to satisfy your appetite while waiting for your sandwich in the idyllic yard (on a hammock, at a picnic table, perhaps hula hooping).

We loved this place! It's a perfect location to get lunch and relax. The atmosphere is awesome and welcoming. We had the twisted sisters in a wrap. It was delicious. Though it may take a little not to receive your sandwich, it's worth it. Everything is made to order

Beautiful outdoor seating and amazing fresh sandwiches. The Meatloaf Sandwich is THE BOMB. Best sandwich i've ever eaten in my life - and i've got 50 years of sandwich eatin' experience across three continets.

A good sandwich at a good "island price." Fresh, pleasant service, great cookies and a funky vibe to the outdoor only seating areas. Much better than what you'll find on the harbor. Walk inland a couple of blocks and escape the tourist haunts.

Best sandwiches on the island. Bike here from the ferry, grab a Twisted sister from these hard-working ladies who make EVERYTHING to order, and go exploring. Don't forget to grab a homemade cookie as well!

This place was super cute but the woman who took are order was RUDE! It was almost time to close for lunch and we asked if it was too late and they said no but then treated us like we were a total hassle. I decided to get a drink after we paid and went in to tell the woman and was completely ignored!!! To pay for a drink?!?! The young teenage girl bussing helped me but I was appalled at how RUDE the woman was. The sandwiches were bland and the $9 salad was the size of a side salad. Then after the shop closed we were still eating and the RUDE woman came out and sat at a table right behind us waiting for us to leave, we were sitting outside!!! I will never go there again. Do yourself a favor if you don't want bland food with a BAD ATTITUDE go somewhere else for lunch!!!!

Great sandwiches in a cute little place with funky outdoor seating. Great option for lunch, just on the edge of town. They're only open from 11:30 am to 2pm. Apparently, they were also getting ready to start an open-air nighttime seafood grill featuring whatever was caught fresh that day.... That gig is in the backyard seating area and its called "Mr. Sister". Although we didn't get to try it, I can almost guarantee its great, and our in keeper raved about it.

Terrible attitude of the short staff today. No custom simple order-turkey and bread for son "NO" was answer. We said take your time, they still did not change attitude. 20 years on the Block-worse attitude! Party of 8 won't come back again and will share our story with all!!if somebody doesn't like mayo, they shouldn't be forced to have it on their sandwich! A little customer service training would help them...and their customers!

Really delicious, freshly made to order sandwiches. The twisted sister with turkey, bacon and avocado was super yummy; also the Brigid's Beach (not positive on the name) with salami, provolone, roasted red peppers. The service was polite and friendly although the wait was a bit long for "just a sandwich".

Great sandwiches. Personal favorites are the twisted sister and the celeb sister. The mustard on the celeb sister is just out if this world. Sandwiches are always yummy and made to order with fresh ingredients. Also their fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are just to die for. However, we have had bad service here . The employees can seem rude and do not easily apologize for any mistakes. The wait for sandwiches at time is ridiculous. We have now taken to ordering over the phone and picking up to avoid the cramped house just to order and then wait. Great lunch place for a sunny day. No indoor seating so keep that in mind when wanting to check out island dining.

  • Peter F.

Pretty subpar service. One of the "sisters" was rude and they got the order wrong. Perhaps the sandwich competition is not terribly stiff so they can act the way they do. All of us were pretty hungry so although we received the wrong order we ate the sandwiches anyway. I guess the silver lining is the sandwich I happened to eat was pretty good (hence the 2 stars).

As a native New Yorker, I take my corned beef sandwiches seriously; don't change it and please don't try to reinvent it. When I started commuting to Philadelphia, before I was informed about 4th Street Deli, I was in desperate need of a corned beef sandwich. My co-workers suggested a few sandwich places that served Reubens. It was served with russian dressing and coleslaw. I am used to sauerkraut on my reubens but hell...I decided to give it a shot. It was one of the worse decisions I ever made. I was hanging with the family July 3 on Block Island. I read about Three Sisters on Yelp and decided to give it a try. A nice10-15 minute walk from the beach, we arrived at Three Sisters. It's a small cottage with picnic tables in the back. With so many options on the menu I decided to go out on a limb and order the McSister. It is a lean corned beef sandwich with Swiss cheese, Russian dressing and coleslaw on a sub roll. Swiss cheese is one of my lease favorites, and like I said earlier, I am very particular with my corned beef sandwiches. I am not sure what they are doing in the city of brotherly love, but they need to have a chat with the ladies of Three Sisters. There was nothing over the top about it, but that was pretty good sandwich. My wife's sandwich, the Twisted Sister, was pretty and the other members ordered the Big Sister, which looked pretty appetizing as well. All sandwiches are served with a bag of potato chips. If you are on Block Island during the summer and in search of a light lunch that is going to satisfy your hunger, then Three Sisters is your place.

Consistently good sandwiches, however the girls who work there are consistently rude, and for no apparent reason. It's almost as if they're doing you a huge favor by making your sandwich. And be ready to order, unless you want a serious 'tude. Better attitude and this place is a four plus star review.

My friend Leslie and I stumbled on to Three Sisters during our walk around Block Island exploring. We chatted with the sisters while they set up for dinner and while we did not join them for dinner we promised to returned for lunch the next day, which we did. the fresh avocados on the Twisted Sister was excellent and guarantees a return from me

BEST SANDWICHES I'VE EVER HAD. HANDS DOWN. every bite is delicious. the yard is a peaceful oasis and the staff is both beautiful and charming. Your Block Island trip is just not complete without going to three sisters. Things that are awesome- twisted sister- a sandwich containing bacon, cheddar, avocado, tomato, lettuce and turkey. the most popular sandwich by far. Any of the sandwiches and wraps can be made into a salad and the salads the best on the island. Incredible chocolate chip cookies...get there early before they stop baking them for the day. They also have dinner outside in the yard called MR. SISTER, they grill fresh seafood and always have live music in the yard under candlelight. Very Romantic. Very good price. BYOB. Gotta check it out.

Delicious sandwiches, very chill place with 80s style rock and punk vibe. We took our sandwiches to go but the picnic area outside was very cozy. Open only for lunch between 1130 and 2.

There have been more than a couple of times when I've been down in the Charlestown, RI area, used Yelp to look for lunch spots, & had this place pop up - only to realize it's on the island & I can't get to it. No, really, I make an audible, "Aww!" every time. So, when I was finally on Block Island with the dude for a quick getaway, I made sure we went here. I picked the sister blue salad (in salad form,) which was the perfect mix of greens & veggies & cheese - I was dipping my chips in the cheese/avocado remnants after! The dude had the brigid's beachin' sub, which I had a couple of bites of, too - YUM. The outdoor space is great for enjoying your meal - plenty of picnic tables, chairs, & grass to sit on. They also offer breakfast & dinner - there's a really cute & vintage-looking bar space outside as well, covered with a sail instead of a tarp for shade (stealing this idea!) I'd love to come back here for dinner on a nice summer night sometime!

Delicious, inexpensive sandwiches in a nice setting. Lots of choices and you can see all the fresh ingredients they use. Several good choices for vegetarians too!

Stumbled upon Three Sisters while meandering about on the island. They had an interesting set up. The kitchen was outside in a partitioned off area and a cloth cover. There's a little house that keeps the raw foods/prep. On the other side of the lawn are a few picnic tables. I went for breakfast, but there are hanging lights set up for a romantic feel in the evening. Food is yummy local and delicious. Try try try!

Spent two weeks working on the island and this was one of my favorite lunch spots. The Twisted Sister sandwich was awesome. Although I took my food back to work, it would have been nice to sit outside at a picnic table. If I hadn't been on a mission not to repeat eating at any restaurants I would have definitely gone back again.

This place is adorable. Great set up - order inside, eat outside on the picnic benches. I got the Greek Salad in a wrap and it was delicious. Casual, fun spot -- will be going back!

Make sure you bring cash and your patience, but I will tell you it was worth it. Only a small menu of sandwiches which I believe means a better chance of fresh ingredients. I tried the Twisted sister which was a fresh turkey, avocado, bacon and cheddar sandwich. It was great! It honestly didn't even need the bacon. The turkey was very thinly sliced as well as the cheddar which made it melt in your mouth. It was a relaxed atmosphere on a sunny day. We ordered out sandwiches and they told us to grab a drink or homage cookie and find a seat. We found a nice picnic branch and waited for the guy to call our name. Sandwiches came with potato chips which is always a plus for me. I would most certainly return here for a sandwich while in visiting the Block!

This is cool spot. Super tiny little house where they make your sandwiches, and seating in the yard out back, super cool atmosphere. The prices are good, and the sandwiches are great. The Twisted Sister is my sandwich of choice.

It is not easy to get decent food at a reasonable price on Block Island. It is VERY easy to get bad food for a ton of money. The three sisters is an itty bitty place with outdoor seating only but they really do have tasty food. They offer a variety of sandwiches and salads and frequently homemade cookies too. For a quick tasty lunch, at an affordable price there isn't a better spot. The ladies who work there do a good job and were very pleasant the several times we have stopped in.

  • Ben S.

Delicious sandwiches Impolite service Pseudo-bohemian atmosphere Minuscule. Busy, with slow service. Tasty food. Outdoor seating to service a quick pass-through of a kitchen/service-counter. The dining room is essentially a back lawn and picnic area behind the tiny structure that houses the operation. I was one of more than a handful of people who wandered out of the ordering line muttering under their breath "what's wrong with THEM?" after getting treated curtly for no apparent reason. I have no need for a return visit after the first impression. Delicious is fine, but with all else in the equation, whatever to this place.

I had an interesting experience here! I ordered Turkey, lettuce, mayo, and cheese. I got Ham, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. I hate ham so there was no sucking it up as I always do. I went to the lady inside and just said I think I got the wrong sandwich. I was told what I ordered was what I got. I told the lady I did not eat ham or tomato so it was not what I ordered. The lady got upset and let her emotions take over. I was not rude or mad. I simply thought I had been given the wrong sandwich. The lady was rude and then grabbed my sandwich, took the ham and tomato off the bread and put turkey on it and then handed it to me and said " Now it is what you ordered." I was so discussed I threw it in the garbage when I walked out to where my family was sitting. Needless to say my family of 9 will never go back and as business owners were very unhappy.

I'm guessing that Swim C went on an off day and I went on an on day. I hope that they have more on days than off days. This place is so cute. The sandwiches are all basic bases with some added ingredients to make them a little more fancy - I got the twisted sister, which is a basic turkey sandwich with the add on of bacon and avocado. You put avocado on any summer sandwich and I am happy. I wouldn't say this is the best sandwich I've ever had but it was pretty good. Outside of the food, I love the atmosphere here. The backyard (eating area) consists of a hamock, some picnic tables (some under the shade of a sail, some under the shade of a tree, some in the sun), and some adirondack chairs. All of these are sprinkled about and flanked by some interesting garden accessories. Three Sisters is just a little off the main drag of Old Harbor, and I think that is what makes it even more a classic Block Island experience.

Really great food ... you can tell they really put time and effort into their sandwiches. The Twisted Sister and the McSister were my favorites. I was also lucky enough to have dinner there twice while we were on the island. If you catch them open for dinner DEFINITELY GO .... the blue fish and the clams were amazing !!!

    (5)
  • Linda B.

Had lunch here today. The lady next to me said it was the best lunch on the island....we were hopeful, but after two sandwiches, one tuna, one corned beef...they were just OK...nothing terrible, but nothing great...

  • Caroline C.

The sandwiches are fine, if you don't mind waiting 45 minutes or ordering a sandwich that is missing five key ingredients. I understand it's an island, but perhaps you shouldn't advertise sandwiches if you don't think you can get the ingredients in stock . . . You do get an extra star for cuteness, and having a hammock.

Easily one of my very favorite spots on Block. We've been coming for well over a decade, and they've got a great variety of sandwiches. Veggie friendly - the hippie sister with homemade hummus and avocado, veggies and sundried tomatoes, is the best veggie lunch on the island. It's the only vegan option in the place, but it's perfection. I prefer it as a salad (i.e. a bowl). All wraps and salads come with chips. The tiny house always smells like fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies (amazing, but perhaps a tad too sweet). Mr. Sister serves up a mean dinner - haven't tried it, but have witnessed him preparing it and serving it many times. You need a reservation to get a spot - we have tried and failed - our fault, not theirs. Local catch - bluefish, clams, etc. paired with veggies and other delicacies under the twinkling strings of lights while you BYO - I suspect it may just be one of the best dinner spots on the island. Some hopefully useful logistics: Order first in the tiny house - just your sandwich or bowl. Grab your own drinks from outdoor cooler after you order, grab your own cookie from the tray (wait until after you've eaten if you can - though I think most people can't and eat this as an appetizer). Pay for it all when your food is ready by telling them what you've taken. Cash only! Waits can be LONG on Fridays-Sundays from 12noon-2. Please arrive with time to burn and some patience. It's fabulous just to be in the yard, waiting for your name to be called, while reading, chilling, or people watching. Yes, your sandwich may well take 45 minutes (though the longest I've ever waited is 30 minutes). Don't choose this spot if you are in a crazy hurry or in a bad mood, the entire experience will be lost on you. You can call in a take-out order in advance - call about 45 minutes in advance, is my advice. Don't show up at 2pm on a Saturday or Sunday - even though lunch runs to 2:30, if they've been slammed, they will be "closed" to new orders, as the current ones will take them until past 2:30. If you can snag the hammock while you wait for your food, you will be in shady, relaxed heaven. This place has the best "feel" of virtually anywhere on the island, and the hammock is particularly relaxing. But please vacate the hammock if you see me coming. Kidding. Sort of. Make a reservation in advance for dinner or you WILL miss out! And please, be really nice to the people that work here - they work their booties off in a tiny, hot space to keep this place running as well as it does.

YUM! Perfect place in BI to go for a simple, non seafood lunch. Their wraps are fresh, delicious, and generously sized. The actual building is literally the size of a closet, so after you order inside step outside and relax on one of the picnic tables in the yard. This place emits a kinda hippy vibe, with veggie options and a really laid back funky feel. Next time I'm in BI I'd def go back. Walking distance from Old Harbor ferry dock.

Twisted sister is amazing. I ate lunch and breakfast here while on the island, and wish I could have had dinner! (Damn you, Irene!) Lunch is great- the menu features salads, sandwiches and wraps- something for everyone. Sandwiches are served with chips. Homemade chocolate chip cookies are great! And the drinks outside are self serve/honor system. Breakfast is quaint and personal and DELICIOUS! I love this place, I wish I lived on Block Island, or that the sisters opened a shop in DC!

TJ Says: We traveled to Block Island via a ferry, to discover unbearable sunniness and heat that we weren't prepared for, given our plans to walk the loop around the island, and our lack of knowledge that there aren't a tremendous amount of options for shade. Approaching the end of our loop, we passed the yard sign for Three Sisters - it just had the time that dinner began, and noted that there would be live music. We continued on and went on a moped adventure. Being the passenger on a moped can be a bit frightening, seemed like being the driver can as well. We returned to Three Sisters for dinner and were the first people there. We discovered that the restaurant staff consisted of a waitress and a man with a grill, and three options or a combo for dinner. Charlie might remember the options, I don't quite recall. I do recall, however, that the food was great, having it cooked right there on the grill was great, the air had cooled and there was a breeze, and we had some entertaining guests sitting near us within a few minutes. You're free to BYOB at this place, and Charlie and I generally prepare ourselves with a bottle of wine when the opportunity for a picnic is near, so we got our bottle out and shared it with dinner. There was live music, it was an acoustic guitar player/singer. We weren't sitting quite close enough to hear her, so this wasn't a main attraction for us, but a nice addition for the atmosphere anyway. Dinner at Three Sisters stands out as one of the highlights from our visit to Block Island. Charlie says: I get the sense that they don't serve dinners on a daily basis here. We went on a Thursday and I enjoyed one of the finest seafood dinners that I have ever had. The options were bluefish, halibut and shrimp with a side of vegetables. TJ and I went for the sampler entree, which came with a little bit of each. The seafood was as fresh as could be and was nearly cooked to perfection by the guy at the grill. There was a friendly atmosphere and the fact that we could dine outside was a plus. That along with the wine and the ice cream sundae that we ordered for dessert made it one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. It seems like I'm exaggerating but I'm not, this place is the real deal.

I've been going to BI for three years now and this year is the first time I've gone to Three Sisters and I have to say, I've been depriving myself the past two!! Excellent sandwiches with the Twisted, Celeb and Belinda sisters being my favorites. They aren't cheap at around 9 dollars each but they are pretty big so you can make two meals out of them. But you're on vacation so eat all of it and worry about the consequences when you get back to the main land.

I had a sandwich at lunch one day and it was fantastic. I would expect further 'three sisters' lunches would be just as fine. I would definitely frequent this establishment again. OHHHHHH and they have delicious cookies too.
